All eyes were undoubtedly on the NFL Draft this week. It was a draft like we’ve never seen before. Yes the Bengals had the first pick but with large crowds banned virtually everywhere most GM’s set up a draft command center from their home which presented its own awkward feel. On top of that one of the most hated men in sports gave a…unique introduction to the draft. What was supposed to be an escape from 24/7 Corona coverage turned into a constant reminder of it at every turn including a special appearance from Dr. Fauci.
You won’t find a lot of Bud Light praise on this website but the #BootheCommish commercial was fantastic and it was exactly what I wanted to do for the first 25 minutes of the draft on day 1.
Going into the draft here’s some projections from a variety of sources.
Josiah Deguara, TE – 6th round
Perry Young, – 7th round
Bryan Wright, ILB – undrafted free agent
Mike Warren II, RB – priority free agent
Morgan James, OG – undrafted free agent
Rashad Medaris, WR – undrafted free agent
With the 94th pick in the Draft the Green Bay Packers selected TE Josiah Deguara.
With Deguara going to the Packers that makes five former tight ends who have played in the NFL in recent memory , Brent Celek (2007-17) Connor Barwin (2009-18) Adrien Robinson (2012-14) Travis Kelce (2013-present) Josiah Deguara (2020-present).
The best TE in the NFL Travis Kelce chopped it up with Green Bay’s newest cheesehead.
Kelce’s UC hat game is impressive.
Unfortunately, Deguara was the only Bearcat drafted in the 2020 Draft. The others went undrafted but some quickly signed with teams around the NFL.
Michael Warren signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bryan Wright signed with the Champs, Kansas City.
Rashad Medaris to the Arizona Cardinals.
As of Sunday afternoon Perry Young and Morgan James have yet to sign with any team.
