Bearcats Slay Tacko & UCF in Win
The Bearcats (16-2, 5-0) walk away victors of the rock and broken glass fight against UCF. I’m not sure what I watched (listened) to in the first half. We scored 15 points in the first half….15 points? WTF? There’s Cincinnati basketball, then there’s what just happened. The Bearcat won the game scoring 49 points. Let me say that again, The Bearcats won the game scoring 49 points. The Bearcats won that game on the back of Gary “The Problem” Clark. What’s a man to a god? What’s a god to Gary Clark? I can’t say anything about this man that hasn’t already been said but thank God he’s in Red and Black. Can you imagine basketball without him wearing #11 for Cronin and the ‘Cats? I can’t right now. Let’s look at the numbers from The Problem: 17 points, 14 rebounds, 1 steal, assist, and block with a 7’6″ giant lurking in the paint! He refused to give this one up. It’s his 10th game with 14+ rebounds, and most double doubles (24) UC has seen in the last 12 years.

The final stat sheet has 10 points scored by Jacob Evans III and the only other Bearcats to score in double digits but I’m not sure how he did it. He shot 3-13 had 4 turnovers, and 1 monstrous block late in the second half. I’m calling it his worst game of his career. His game was ugly tonight and was a turnover machine early in first half. The Bearcats have held opponents to 18 field goals or less in the last 5 games and have held every AAC opponents to 56 points or less. I had notes I took during the game but ate them at half time.
Gary Clark is a problem.

^ This is now the understatement of the ’17-’18 basketball season.
